Long Day Care
Long Day Care is run for children from birth to school age.
|Monday to Friday||7:00AM - 6:00PM|
The DECD funded preschool program operates at our centre that is staffed by registers early childhood teachers. As a DECD funded preschool we also have access to additional support services and training to ensure the highest quality of early childhood education for your child.
If you have a child with special needs or has been assessed as gifted they maybe eligible for additional sessions. If your child identifies as Aboriginal/Torres Straight Islander or is a under the Guardianship of the Minister they are entitled to start preschool at age 3years. Please speak to staff to discuss your requirements.
Community Playgroup is offered on Friday mornings from 9.30 - 11.30am (during School Term) for children birth-5 years and their families.
Coffee and Conversations (Birth - 2 years) is offered Wednesday afternoons from 12.45pm - 2.45pm (during School Term) for children birth - 2 years and their families. During these sessions guest speakers from various community agencies attend and offer information in an informal way to families.

Children attending Port Pirie West Primary School attend transition programs and have visits at the school. Staff members attend initial visits with the children, to ensure they are feeling comfortable and secure. Throughout your child's time at the children's centre visits to and from the school are very much a part of the curriculum. Gor children attending other schools the Pirie Partnership have a set transition program that takes place in term 4.
